From First Facility to Radiopharmaceutical Network
Opening story
Cyclotek was established to provide reliable access to PET radiopharmaceuticals for the Australian and New Zealand market. From its first facility in Bundoora, Victoria, Cyclotek has grown into a specialist radiopharmaceutical platform with a distribution network supporting routine clinical supply, research, clinical trials and industry partnerships.
Growth story
Cyclotek’s early investment in cyclotron infrastructure created the platform for reliable FDG production and later expansion into additional PET radiopharmaceuticals. A second cyclotron was installed in 2006 to provide additional production capacity, redundancy and R&D capability. In 2010, Cyclotek extended into New Zealand through its Wellington facility in partnership with Pacific Radiology Group.
National expansion
Cyclotek continued to expand its manufacturing network through new facilities at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Melbourne, and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, strengthening radiopharmaceutical supply across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, and northern New South Wales. In 2019, Cyclotek further expanded its New South Wales operations through the acquisitions of facilities at Lucas Heights and Macquarie University Hospital.
Regulated capability
Cyclotek's facilities operate under the relevant Australian and New Zealand regulatory frameworks, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements for the manufacture and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals. This commitment to quality and regulatory compliance underpins the company's ability to support routine clinical supply, clinical trial manufacturing and future product development.
